BRANDING: KNOWING GOD’S VOICE | HEARING ABOVE THE NOISE

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. (Hebrews 1:3)

How do you picture God’s voice? Is it writing on a wall? Is it audible? Is it bellowing claps of thunder? Is it a gentle whisper? The beauty and grandeur of God’s voice is that it’s all of these and so much more. Psalm 29 teaches us that the voice of the Lord is over the waters, it breaks the cedars, and it even makes a deer give birth. His voice holds all things together. So why do we hear from him so little? With the branding for this series we wanted to imagine God’s voice in the details of everyday life. In Matthew 4:4 Jesus reminds us,”‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” What if God is speaking to you in the music you are listening to? Are you listening for him? What if God is speaking to you in the article you are reading? Are you looking for him? What if God’s word is enough to guide you, sustain you, and nourish your soul? Are you satisfied with it? So much of hearing from the Lord is looking for him. May God speak to you and remind you that he loves you, he is with you, he will give you what you need, and he will keep you to the end.

That all may sing,
Pastor Matt Shelton
