PRBK_BANNER_BLOGThe Paradox Church exists to make disciples who make disciples. Our desire is to equip you for this mission (Eph. 4:12) in various ways. On Sunday, we mentioned Porterbrook Fort Worth as one of the ways we can equip you to live on mission in your context. Porterbrook costs $600 per year, with the combined 2 year program costing less than a single class at many major theological institutions. You can register for the 2014-2015 session now.DIVIDERWhat is Porterbrook Fort Worth?Porterbrook Fort Worth is a theological training program for the church by the church. This program emphasizes and teaches you to live in light of the gospel story in the context of community and for the sake of God's mission in the world. Differing from other theological training programs and seminaries, Porterbrook’s focus is not simply on increased theological knowledge, but rather the development of character and living on mission in your specific context. Porterbrook addresses the head (knowledge), the heart (character), and the hands (mission) to equip you to serve Jesus and those around you.DIVIDERWhether you are a church leader, potential church planter, or everyday Christian wanting to be equipped by deepening your theological understanding and forming your life on mission, Porterbrook will develop, train, and equip you.DIVIDERThe course structure is built around four major streams of learning: Character, Bible & Doctrine, Church, and World. The schedule is organized as three trimesters from August to May each year, with each trimester being bookended by Saturday Conferences with guest speakers that are seasoned pastors and theologians. JR Vassar will be kicking Porterbrook Fort Worth on September 13, 2014, teaching on Character: Living and Leading Out of a Gospel-Transformed Heart. In between each conference, you will meet in learning cohorts for 9 weeks, working through assignments and discussing the readings in a small group.DIVIDERIf you’re a city group leader looking to grow theologically, an accountant who is seeking character development, or a stay at home mom wanting to live on mission in a specific context, Porterbrook Fort Worth is for you.
