Far More Abundantly: A Story From Our Second International Mission Trip

MISSONS_7_14_2Our second international mission trip team is finishing up there time in Uganda and will be home tomorrow. Please continue to pray for protection, boldness, and Jesus to save many through their work. Here is a story from one of the team members and a partner of our church, Lauren Reed.Tweebaza katonda! There is great physical and spiritual need here in Africa, and God is really at work in Uganda! I have continually been in awe that He has so graciously chosen to use sinners like us for His glory! It immediately became clear to us that God had called us and brought us together as a team, as we quickly felt like a family. He has been using us to point each other to Jesus, as many comforts from home have been stripped away and idols revealed. All of the Ugandans have really opened their hearts to us and have been so hospitable. It is incredible to see the Lord's love through them. We were able to work with a women's ministry group in a village called Rakai. There was a certain peace and joy among the women we met that is only found in the presence of the Holy Spirit. We were encouraged by their faith and how much they treasured Jesus. God used us to encourage them through the teaching of Scripture and serving them through hand massages and painting their nails. We also had the opportunity to bless them, in the name of Jesus, with the gift of two goats which will help provide for their families. Also, the people of Rakai do not have access to healthcare, so we served them by conducting a medical clinic. God used this to serve His people in a mighty way! We were able to care for the physical needs of over 200 people, but more importantly, the gospel was proclaimed and many people put their faith in Jesus! The day was long and at times felt quite chaotic. That being said, I truly felt the Lord as He strengthened me with power from the Holy Spirit. I had absolutely nothing left to give and was forced to rely on Him, which was a beautiful picture of His love.We are so incredibly thankful for all that our great God has accomplished so far here in Uganda. We ask that you join us in prayer as we expectantly watch the Lord at work and pray for Him to continue to work in and through us to transform lives for His glory! We ask these things in His mighty, mighty Name. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21MISSONS_7_14You can read a story from our first international trip here.
