A Message From Pastor Jim

Published February of 2020

You may have noticed (or experienced!) that we turn families away every week because Prdx Kids reaches capacity...And even though we will be sending out our third local church plant on Sunday, Jesus continues to increase our numbers (we had 841 people on Sunday!) . . . it’s time for us to get into our own space.

In the past 12 months, Jesus accomplished so much through us:

...we want to do more.

The last six weeks have included multiple prayer walks (try it if you never have..) and huge prayers for our church. I’ve been convicted that my prayers for a building are too small...God has led us to pray for revival in our women, renewal on the college campuses (TCU, A&M Law, UNTHSC), prayers of salvation for people in power in our city, for justice issues, adoptions, healings, and so much more...it’s been exciting!

So as you seek the Lord in the Spiritual Disciplines this week, please join us in these Jesus-only prayers...these prayers that are so big, it’s obvious only Jesus can make them happen.

A FUTURE FACILITY

The elders feel a healthy sense of urgency and even aggressiveness in our pursuit of a permanent facility. We had a clarifying and encouraging meeting with our lender over our finances, we put together a building search team to help me in the search process, and we’ve looked at a few properties just in the last couple of weeks.

What we’re looking for:

  • Downtown building or land, or combination thereof

  • 30,000 sq ft. min.

  • 750 seats & sufficient classroom space

  • Access to at least 350 parking spaces

One thing that has become apparent as we search for a place that meets our needs in Downtown is that the booming nature of Fort Worth makes everything very competitive. We’ve lost out on opportunities simply because we either couldn’t be aggressive in our offer or we just straight up couldn't compete. We are more certain than ever that Jesus is calling us to permanently plant our church family in Downtown, but we are competing with huge developers and deep pockets.

We’ve wanted to wait to launch a building campaign for when we actually get a property under contract...and we still think that's the best plan...but would you prayerfully ask the Lord what he would have you contribute to the Building Fund, and not wait? The more that we have, the more we are able to move on an opportunity, and the more opportunities will be available to us.

You can give online or text your amount followed by “building” to 84321. I'm so grateful for your partnership with me in the Gospel for the glory of God.

For His Fame,
Pastor Jim
