What is Advent?

Advent is the first season in the church calendar, celebrated during the four Sundays leading up to December 25. Advent is a time of anticipation waiting for Christ’s return and the fulfillment of his kingdom. During Advent, we take time to reflect on the love, joy, peace, and hope that comes with the present of God. We remember the birth of Jesus Emmanuel, “God with us” and hope in his promised return. We acknowledge that we live in a broken world and eagerly await for all things to be made new.

Part 1

A Church Divided

1 Corinthians 1-6

Factions had formed. Status had crept in. Paul writes to a church pulling itself apart - and points them back to the only foundation that holds.

Part 2

Sex, Dating, Marriage & Divorce

1 Corinthians 6-7

In a culture that distorted everything, Paul speaks clearly about the body, sexuality, and what it means to honor God in how we love.

Part 3

Freedom, Love & Wisdom

1 Corinthians 8-11

Freedom is real. But love governs how we use it. Paul shows what it looks like to hold both without losing either.

Part 4

A Church Empowered

1 Corinthians 12-14

Every gift. One body. Paul lays out God's design for a Spirit-empowered church where love - not status - defines how we function together.

Part 5

Resurrection Life

1 Corinthians 15-16

If Christ is not raised, nothing else matters. But he is. And that changes everything - how we live, how we grieve, how we hold on.
