This past Sunday, we got to flaunt the glory and provocative grace of Jesus by baptizing seven people. Below are some pictures and glimpses into their stories of God’s redemption in their lives.

"I was overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit. Having never had truly experienced God before, I sat in awestruck tears at the God I was experiencing: a God that loved me in all my sin, in all my lies, in all my shame, and in all my brokenness; a God that forgave me; a God that called me his daughter even though I had never done anything before to call him my Father.“

“Coming to the realization that the Lord should be the center of my life, putting my trust in the Lord and fully recognizing that I am a child of God has been the biggest blessing of my life. I have grown so much in my faith over the past three years and I owe it all to God. It’s easy to try and please everyone or compare yourself to those around you, but I have come to learn that the only one I truly needed to care about was God."

"I could feel God directing my path and speaking to me. I could feel his joy. I must say that all of my problems did not go away. This was over 10 years ago and God is still revealing areas of weakness in me, so I am getting baptized today because I was never baptized when I truly accepted Jesus into my heart and believed he died for my sins.”

"I desperately wanted to be loved, and thought I needed a man to love me. As much as I pursued the love of men, I was constantly told that I was loved, and I was special to God. It wasn't until my mother and I began attending a new church that I realized how much I needed the love of Jesus and not man. I was finally able to understand why God sacrificed His only son for me.”

Meysam

Meysam was saved by Jesus while living in Iran. In a dream, a man handed Meysam a book that would have salvation and this man told him to say amen. Meysam did not know anything about this book and did not see it again. Later, a friend gave Meysam a Bible translated to his native language and Meysam remembered this book from his dream. Meysam began reading this book and began to see Jesus as the son of God. Meysam eventually placed his trust in Jesus as savior as king and was baptized on October 5th.

"I understood that I was a sinner that was living with an evil heart apart from God...I knew Jesus died so I could live with God with a clean heart so I can glorify God and enjoy him forever. I want to be baptized today to let everyone know that Jesus saved me, he loves me and I love him."

"I grew up not understanding what baptism really was and not realizing it was a command of Christ. And when it became clear to me, I was very embarrassed and did not want to come forward and stand in front of a big group of people to be dunked.” Nikki then shared some impactful scripture, reading from Romans 6:4, "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
